Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage is the leading Bothell Moving Company and it is our pleasure to share an overview of Bothell, Washington.
In the early 1870s, white settlers came to the Bothell area seeking homesteads. At the time, the only transportation was by boat on the “Squak Slough,” now the Sammamish River. In the spring of 1889, David C. Bothell filed the first plat in what was to become the city and the town was incorporated 20 years later. Tucked away between the trees, a bit north of Seattle, you will find this quaint town. Not quite the fast paced urban feel of Seattle, yet full of hospitality and all the amenities a big city can offer. It is conveniently located next to the major Interstates of 405 and I-5 and lies within two counties, King and Snohomish. Its location offers a central location for day trips to the mountains and coast, as well as easy access to Seattle’s downtown and waterfront, Woodinville’s wine country and many other regional attractions.
Hansen's did a great job with our move. Everything arrived in perfect condition. The staff--packers, movers, and office managers--have been extremely courteous and responsive. Our move was complicated by having a split between household effects--some going to storage and some going to a location on Whidbey Island. We will definitely be using Hansen Bros. on our next move and would recommend them to anyone needing such services. — Mark D., 3/10/2017See What 2,406 Customers are Saying
In almost a century Bothell has evolved from an isolated logging village housing a handful of hardy pioneers to a multi-faceted full-service city with a resident population of approximately 30,000+ and a business population of about 20,000. Over that time the city has taken on several roles; way station, mill town, local farm supplies and services center, suburban bedroom community, and, within the last decade, regional employment center. Main Street features homey cafes and restaurants and some first-class furniture, clothing and antique stores. The downtown Bothell Gateway Project represents a major infrastructure and economic development opportunity that will lead to dramatic improvements to the entire downtown area.
Bothell’s Northshore School District is highly respected, and as the host to high-tech employers and to a University of Washington campus, the city role in technological and educational issues is assured. Recent state standardized testing scores place Northshore students well above average in comparison to other Washington students. The higher education options include the University of Washington as well as Bastyr University in neighboring Kenmore.
Community amenities include bicycle and jogging trails and nearby rivers for fishing and canoeing. A National Tree City USA designee for 6 years, Bothell has well-developed parks and recreation system, including the Sammamish River Trail. Other popular attractions include an amphitheater, Country Village, the Bothell Historical Museum, and the Bothell Landing, once a steamboat landing. There are numerous opportunities for quality spiritual activities in the many local churches and community volunteer options are available, as well.
Seattle Magazine has ranked Bothell as the #3 Best Place to Live in the NW Metroplex.
