Until my experience with Hansen Bros., I associated moving with the highest possible level of anxiety. Your organization changed that for me...

Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage Supports Make-A-Wish (April 17, 2011)
Four year old Gary has a rare condition that prohibits him from any extended exposure to the sun. For the past couple of summers, Gary's family has sheltered him in a tent in his backyard and Gary settled for watching his siblings, cousins and friends playing without him. Thanks to Make-A-Wish and an incredible group of sponsors and volunteers, Gary played outside today--how wonderfully cool is that?
Along with Gary's loving parents, a plan was hatched by Make-A-Wish and Wish Wizard Trina Cottingham for The Perfect Wish: we needed a sun impervious and VERY BIG tarp/cover---that would survive the winds and weather of the Pacific NW--and would be very securely anchored---that we could get at a healthy discount---and a stable and really fun playground system.
Make-A-Wish contacted the great folks at Sunguard in Florida and within half an hour we got a call back from a true angel: Brian Rasmussen of Sunguard Pacific Northwest, LLC in Vancouver, WA. Brian was brimming with enthusiasm and kindness, and he offered us a 24 x 36 sun impervious cover, along with the frame and hardware AND shipping from Florida for next to nothing. Brian also made a bunch of uncompensated trips from Vancouver to Gary's home in Black Diamond, and was instrumental in the design and construction of the sun impervious structure and covering. He is a hero to us and to Gary's family.
Trina worked with our pals at Rainbow Play Systems in Spokane and came up with a perfect set of swings, climbing features, a slide and a ship motif---a combination that met all of Gary's needs and dreams. Like Brian, Dennis Wood of Rainbow toiled long and hard for Gary--what a great guy.
From there, a great crew poured huge footings (around 3 feet square, and 2.5 feet deep---think about that!) and raised the pillars and frame that support the bright blue cover. Carpionito Brothers graciously gave a great discount for over 20 yards of wood chips to blanket the 24 x 36 footprint of the structure. Trust us, that is one whole lot of wood chips.
At eight a.m. Sunday, and even larger (and even more psyched) work party met at Gary's home--including Wish volunteers extraordinaire Mike Morelli and Pam Peters AND her entire family. Our “white horse” arrived promptly - Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage truck! They generously picked up and delivered Gary’s play system to his home. With delicate ease they helped the volunteers move the pieces to just the right place in the yard.
Under the leadership if Dennis Wood from Rainbow, within 4-5 hours Gary's play system rose to majestic heights (and so did Gary's smile). By noon, Gary was joined by the Black Diamond Police Department's K 9 Unit (and, as fate would have it, one of the two friendly officers has a brother who also has the medical condition that Gary is battling). Just as Gary led the officers and their dog back to his playground, we heard a siren and saw flashing lights---and the Black Diamond Fire Department burst onto the festive scene. Gary and all of his buddies got to sit in the driver's seat of the fire engine, and the three firefighters and the two police officers (and their dog, of course) made Gary feel very, very special.
A little boy can now truly be a little boy, every day of the year. SHARE THE POWER OF A WISH.
