The COVID-19 crisis is fluid and there are many uncertainties and factors outside of our control that may, with little or no advance notice, impact our delivery of moving & storage services. Please be aware the current crisis could potentially result in small inconveniences such as a delayed project start time or significant inconveniences such as the complete rescheduling of services.

Although there are many unknowns to be navigated, you can be certain that Hansen Bros. will be timely and transparent in our communications regarding servicing your moving & storage needs, and our professional relocation consultants will work diligently to offer creative solutions in the event your project is impacted by the current health crisis.

Steps Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage is Taking:

  • Company-wide Implementation of all precautionary measures recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
  • Office staff and moving crews are being monitored daily for symptoms and/or known exposure by management and asked to go home, contact their healthcare provider, and self-quarantine as directed. Staff that experience symptoms and/or aware of exposure when not at work have been directed to stay home and notify their supervisor.
  • Office staff and moving crews are receiving daily briefings on precautionary measures and have been directed to follow them on and off the job.
  • Office staff and moving crews are being instructed to maintain appropriate “social distance” of 6 feet minimum between one another, customers, and all other people.
  • Office staff and moving crews are being provided with appropriate hand sanitizer and surface disinfecting supplies. They have been directed to disinfect truck cabs and moving equipment between each move to the best of their ability. These supplies will continue to be replenished as we are able, based on availability from retailers.
  • Moving crews will be furnished with work gloves to be worn during the moving process and disinfected both during their work and between customers.
  • Moving crews will be furnished with appropriate masks (when available) to be worn during the moving process, as circumstances require.
  • Hansen Bros. is limiting visitation to our branch offices. If you wish to purchase moving boxes or supplies, please simply call in your order and we will happily deliver to your vehicle outside.
  • Hansen Bros. is offering Virtual Estimate Appointments! For more information, please visit our Virtual Estimate Appointment page or ask about this terrific option when speaking with one of our professional relocation consultants.

Steps We’re Asking Customers To Take Prior To Our Arrival At Your Residence:

  • Please notify us immediately if you or any members of your household have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms including cough, fever, or difficulty breathing.
  • Please use disinfectant/cleaner to wipe down commonly touched surfaces, objects, door handles, etc. at your residence.
  • Please make a sink, hand soap, and paper towels available to your outside salesperson and moving crew for handwashing during their time within your home.
  • Please keep residence and office windows open throughout the moving process as this allows for greater airflow and less potential containment of germs.

We are all in this together.  The team at Hansen Bros. is proud to continue offering our wide range of services in accordance with the necessary precautions outlined above. Whether you or your business will be moving down the street, across the country, or around the world, we are here to make the process seamless & safe for you just as we’ve done for well over a century.

How possible is it to perform well when packing the last-minute?

The question that we first need to answer is very important. After all, it is closely relating to the exact thing that we are trying to avoid having to do – putting to practice the last-minute packing tips. However, sometimes, we are going to have to use them.

So, to answer the question: it is possible to pack correctly when packing at the last minute. Simply, packing is a process that requires time to complete. No matter whether you are doing it by yourself or with the help from movers Bellevue WA, you are going to need to do it. Still, if you need to pack shortly before moving away, you should know you should pay close attention to what you are doing. After all, the packing material is the only thing standing between your belongings and them suffering damage. Therefore, make sure to do it as reliably as possible.

Last-minute packing tips – what you need to do

As you are going to see, the last-minute packing tips are not going to be all that much different from the general packing tips. In fact, you are going to have to go through all aspects of packing as when packing on time no matter whether you are about to perform an interstate move to/from Washington or you may be moving locally. Still, now you are going to have less time on your hands. Therefore the pressure is going to be quite stronger. Still, you should not let it get the better of you.

Instead, focus on what you need to do. Bear in mind the following:

  • Make a packing plan
  • Invest in professional packing materials
  • Pack room by room
  • If running out of time, make use of garbage bags

Let’s take a look at the details of these things to keep in mind.

Make a packing plan

The first thing that you need to make sure you do is to make a packing plan for your commercial moving Washington.

The packing plan is very similar to the moving plan. However, while the moving plan is something that you are going to have to come up with the moment you decide to relocate, a packing plan can wait a bit. Still, when the time comes, and it should be as soon as you decide what items you are going to be taking with you, you should get down to work.

One of the things that you are going to have to do is to make an inventory list. You could use two approaches:

  • One approach would be to list all of the items that you have. Then, you could start decluttering. As you get rid of the items that you do not need, scratch them off the list.
  • Another approach would be to declutter first. Then, start making the inventory list and the moving plan.

Whatever approach you may decide to take, you should use this time to figure out what kind of moving materials you are going to have to buy. Getting the right amount of the right type of moving material is crucial to any kind of moving.

Invest in professional packing materials

The next on our list of last-minute packing tips is to obtain packing materials that the professionals use.

When you have enough time to pack, you can try adapting and perhaps using some of your belongings to help you with packing. However, this is not something that is going to find its time on our last-minute packing tips. Instead of trying to cut corners, you should invest in proper packing supplies. While they do mean that you are going to have an additional expense, they will also enable you to be certain that your items are going to survive your move.

Pack room by room

When you start packing, you should go ahead and start packing room by room. Many would advise packing items of a similar kind first. By the time you are done with all of them, your house will be packed altogether too. However, in your case, this is not the brightest idea. Instead, you should tackle room by room. It may require you to invest a bit more in the packing materials, but it will also mean that you will be quick about packing for your Lynwood move in the state of Washington.

If running out of time, make use of plastic contractor bags

Lastly, let us point out that, in the case that you are really out of time for moving, you should go ahead and just dump your items in plastic bags. Is this an ideal packing plan for moving out of the state of Washington? Certainly not. However, it does allow you to gather belongings together and protect them from dirt and moisture.
