OUR ACTIONS FOR COVID-19

All Hansen Bros. Employees are instructed and expected to follow the guidelines provided by the CDC. This includes:

  • Staying home from work if ill, experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or having been exposed to someone with the virus
  • Washing hands frequently with soap or using proper hand sanitizer when soap is not available
  • Maintaining a 6’ social distance from others to the highest degree possible
  • Wearing appropriate face masks when/if requested or required

Hansen Bros. continues to take the following steps:

  • Regularly refreshing and reinforcing prevention guidelines among all staff members to reduce the risk of spreading infection
  • Daily monitoring of staff for symptoms of illness and sending anyone with symptoms home

Hansen Bros. requests the following of our customers:

  • If you have a scheduled estimate appointment or booked move, please notify us immediately if you or any members of your household have been exposed to COVID-19, tested positive for COVID-19, or are experiencing symptoms including cough, fever, or difficulty breathing. Please rest assured there is NO CHARGE to reschedule your estimate or move due to illness – we will work together to find an alternate date that works for you.
  • Please use disinfectant/cleaner to wipe down commonly touched surfaces, objects, door handles, etc. at your residence.
  • Please make a sink, hand soap, and paper towels available to your outside salesperson and moving crew for handwashing during their time within your home.
  • Please keep all windows open throughout the moving process as this allows for greater airflow and reduces the containment of germs.
  • Please maintain a social distance of 6’ or greater during both your in-person estimate appointment and while moving services are being performed.

The following tips for a local, hourly move can really save you some money:

I used Hansen Bros. for two moves during the last year. One was moving from a 2-bedroom apartment, to a house and the other was moving a 300 pound BBQ. In both cases, the team was highly responsive efficient and thorough in making the plan and using technology to lower the effort on my part.
On the days of the move, everyone show up on time and executed the move perfectly, with proper packing & protections around walls and floors. The team members had a positive attitude, were friendly and helpful when making choices about how to do things. In the case of the big move, we had to reschedule for 2 days later because the truck parking was already taken at the apartment complex. In that case they swiftly checked with their office and made a new plan without charging more money or making a fuss. I will use Hansen Bros. for any future move that I do + I will recommend it to my friends & family.

Origin

  1. Make sure that there is room to park a large moving van in front of your origin residence and that your neighbors are aware of the need for plenty of moving van space. Sometimes a city permit and “no parking” signs are necessary.
  2. Disassemble beds, particleboard furniture, and remove mirrors off dressers. Disconnect and remove hoses and vents from washers and dryers and place inside the unit.
  3. Packed cartons should have taped closed tops. Write contents and room location on the side(s) of cartons. For new residence, number rooms for quick reference.
  4. Move small items yourself: lamps and lampshades, pictures, knickknacks, and small pieces of glass or marble. If you would like us to move any of these items, they will first need to be properly packed.
  5. Unplug and coil up all electric cords and wiring from appliances, computers and electronics.
  6. Load hanging clothes in wardrobe cartons yourself while crew is moving furniture. These wardrobe cartons are loaned to you on your moving day at no cost and are one of our most popular helpful and friendly services.

Destination

  1. Make sure room is reserved in front of your new residence for a large moving van. Street access and close parking space is vital for efficiency. Sometimes city permits and/or no parking easels are required.
  2. Be present and available at all times during move in. The movers will ask where each piece goes and how you would like it placed as they walk in the door.
  3. Measure and visualize the furniture placement within each room. The movers will place the items where you instruct them. Re-arranging is very costly and time-consuming. We will gladly do so as long as you understand it costs more and are willing to sign a supplemental estimate prior to the rearranging.
